Enter the Fairytale of Château Monfort, Milan

TAOP Staff /

Step into Château Monfort, and enter a fairytale of music and art. Designed by the famous Milanese architect Paolo Mezzanotte, this 5-star luxury hotel will enchant you with its elegantly furnished interiors and fairytale-themed rooms.

Stay
Transport yourself to another time, another place, another world – at Château Monfort. The building was originally a private Milanese home built in the 20th century, to house 3 daughters, each their own floor. After closing for 45 years, the people of Milan were excited to learn that the old home would re-open under the management of Relais & Chateaux – this time to the public.

A total of 77 rooms, each floor offers each of the 5 room categories, offering an eclectic mix geared towards families wishing to stay together. Rooms facing in towards the courtyard offer a view of the hotels blush pink exterior and the beautiful crystal dome added during the 3-year renovation. As the sun goes down and the dome and each window lights up, the hotel has a classic French aura, hence its Château name.

Many of the rooms each have their own unique personality or theme, each tailor-made. Some are even inspired by classical operas to celebrate the world-famous La Scala theatre is close by. There is the Nutcracker deluxe room, which mimics a young child’s room and is complete with a replica of a candle holder bedside – one that you imagine Clara would have used to check on her beloved nutcracker in the middle of the night. Then there is the Madame Butterfly suite that captures an entirely different feel. With a beautiful Japanese kimono hung above the bed, the bedding, drapery, and chairs are all inspired by Japan, the famed opera’s setting. And of course, there is the exquisite Turandot suite after Giacomo Puccini’s historic opera, first performed at La Scala.
