Round Tables Tour

Following its great success in 2015, Tel Aviv’s Round Tables Tour completed its second annual 3-week food event, which quickly sold out an impressive 14,000 reservations. 13 internationally acclaimed chefs were each paired with a local chef and invited to share their own flavors with the city while adapting them to the local ingredients.

With every night of the event completely full, locals and international visitors alike were able to revel in cuisines from Europe, Latin America, and Asia in some of the cities best restaurants such as The Blue Rooster, Hotel Montefiore, Yaffo Tel Aviv, Nithan Thai, Quattro, and The Norman.

In a truly collaborative effort, hosting chefs spent a short period abroad at their paired chef’s restaurant to prepare for the takeover. Everything from the details of dishes down to the tableware was learned. To our surprise, some hosting chefs even went as far as reproducing the tableware as a way of offering hospitality.

At the time of the event, each guest chef brought a team of 3 to 4 people directly from their restaurant to work the kitchen and to host in the front of the house — all in order to curate an authentic experience.

With this year’s Round Tables Tour having such high global regard, it seems like an international tour could be on the horizon.
