On January 24th and 25th, the Bocuse d’Or – considered one of the most prestigious gastronomic competitions in the world – took place in Lyon, France. And for the first time in its 30 year history, USA took home the gold.

America’s representatives were Per Se executive sous chef Mathew Peters and his commis Harrison Turone, coached by former representatives French Laundry executive sous chef Philip Tessier, Gavin Kaysen and Thomas Keller. Norway took silver, and Iceland took home bronze.

Here’s a sneak peek of some of the dishes presented at the competition.
