The Latest Trend in Plating: Scaling

Eleven Madison Park’s New Menu

Here’s a gorgeous and striking look into the Eleven Madison Park’s (ranked #1 on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list) new menu that debuted last night for the reopening of their newly renovated restaurant. Instead of overly ornamental dishes being plated, chef Daniel Humm takes a refreshingly minimal approach on his plating style.

Black & White by Signe Birck

In a recent exhibit for FoodPhoto Festival held in Vejle, Denmark, photographer Signe Birck created a series of food photos to reflect her lifetime relationship with the colors black and white. To carry out the project, Birck called on a few of NYC’s best chefs to each create an all-black and an all-white dish to be photographed on a corresponding colored plate and background.
