Situated in the Time Warner Center on Columbus Circle, Asiate of Mandarin Oriental, New York sits 35 floors above the busy streets of Manhattan. As you dine in the sky, slip away just for a moment from the bustle of the urban scape below and indulge in a space of luxury, comfort, and fine dining.
With new Chef de Cuisine Garrison Price heading the kitchen, restaurant Asíate at the Mandarin Oriental, New York seduces its diners with much more than its exquisite view of Manhattan. Chef Garrison Price has revamped the offerings typical of a hotel restaurant, and offers fresh and playful combinations in the tasting menu.
Particular favorites of ours include the Maine lobster, served with preserved plums and forbidden rice chips adding a perfect crunch, with just a touch of spice to contrast the sweet and enhance the lobster. The next was a very playful rendition of foie gras terrine, served with coconut and black sesame financier.
Definitely do not miss out on the wine pairing. Wine director and Master Sommelier Laura Williamson (also new to the team since last October) brings her incredible knowledge and experience to the Asiate dining room, beautifully complementing each of chef Garrison’s dishes and its flavors.
