Miguel Andrade, a Lisbon-based writer and researcher, chef connector and all-around bon vivant took over our Instagram to show us where go on a Perfect Weekend in Lisbon. Here’s what you missed.
@jmgrodrigues is the chef of Feitoria – a place where the sense of culture, history and Portuguese cuisine and flavours are very well noted. Feitoria’s dishes use unbelievable produce. Expect seeing huge cuttlefish coming to your table or fish in different parts before eating your dish. The star of the night: this big (sometimes even bigger) of a scarlet shrimp (carabineiro) with all its head juice taken with the help of a duck press in front of you. – @miguelcrandrade #TheArtOfPlating A post shared by The Art of Plating (@theartofplating) on
Joana’s walnut pudding – a recipe by @leopoldogarciacalhau’s mom. Inside D. Maria II theatre is Café Garrett, a restaurant with comfort food written all over it – using seasonal and local ingredients like these walnuts falling from the trees right now. A menu without instructions is shaped by the chef’s home region in the Alentejo. – @miguelcrandrade #TheArtOfPlating A post shared by The Art of Plating (@theartofplating) on
A coarse broa from @gleba_padaria, made with white corn sourced from Minho in the Northwest of Portugal. Diogo Amorim, a 22 year-old baker, is the only baker in Lisbon making bread from 100% Portuguese grains. He mills and bakes in house and he is on a mission to resurrect traditional Portuguese bread culture. – @miguelcrandrade #TheArtOfPlating A post shared by The Art of Plating (@theartofplating) on
